Hi,
Upon waking in the middle of the night 4 days ago I went back to bed and in the dark I could see 3 big lines that would move with my eyes so I got up and then could see a big letter S I turned on the light and it was gone shut off the light and things were fine I saw the eye doctor who dilated my pupils and said all was fine not to bother with this what are your thoughts.

This is called photopsia. It occurs due to changes in vitreous body inside your eye.It is normal thing and no need to be afraid.
