Question

Hi,

I am a 45 year old female and wear multifocal contact lenses.

For many months I have been experiencing split second episodes of darkness (as though blinking).

What can cause this, and can hypotension or hypothyroidism be connected to the problem?

Thank you in advance

1- Hypotension

2- Atherosclerosis which can cause carotid artery stenosis and reduce blood flow to the eye. This is called transient ischemic attack.

3- Optic disc swilling.

The best thing to do is to have full dilated fundus examination
