There are many causes of this complain but the most important three causes that you have to visit an eye doctor to rule them out as soon as possible are optic neuritis, optic disc swelling and amaurosis fugax.

Amaurosis Fugax is transient loss of vision due to reduction in the blood supply to the brain. Optic neuritis is inflammation of optic nerve while optic disc swelling occurs due to increase in the pressure inside the skull.

We always have to rule out the bad and serious diseases and treat them early before permanent damages occur. other benign causes are hypotension, dizziness and ear infection.
