I have been wearing glasses for over 30 years. 2.50 and 2.50 in both eyes. Can't see far.
Question
Hi,
In the last few days I have had a strange feeling (like when you wear glasses for the first time or when you stand up too quickly):
- eye strain or heavy eyes
- slight off balance
- slight light headed
- slight headache
- reddish eyes in the last 2 days.
Vision is perfect, so I have had no vision problems. But I have the above symptoms here and there during the day and a general heaviness in the eyes.
Yesterday I became paranoid and started looking online anywhere and having a little bit of red eyes I wanted to see the corner of my eyes (which one can't see). So I photograph it. I attach images.
If you the see the front, you can see the eyes look fairly normal though slightly reddish, but what concerned me was the corner of my left eye in particular (where I saw what I could call a hematoma?) and capillaries. And then capillaries also on the right eye.
I spend 12 or more hours a day in front of the computer. So that could be a cause. But I have never had those feelings above consistently for 5-6 days. So I'm becoming paranoid and looking at all potential things online I'm imagining I have the worst stuff ...
What's your opinion, also looking at the pictures?
Thanks
Answer
Thanks for your Question
This eye strain that you have could be caused by either sinusitis which can cause heaviness in the eye and headache and also slight off balance or it can be caused by working on a computer for long period of time.
You might need eyeglasses for near as your age is over 45 which can help to reduce eye strain from computers
You have mild redness which is insignificant for us. You can use lubricant eye drops 3-4 times a day.
