My kid's eyes looking droopy and brownish eye whites

Did you perform any surgery for the eyes?
Do you suffer from pre-existing illnesses in the eye?
Do you suffer from any diseases in the body?
Do you use any eye drops?
Do you use any eye drops?

Dear Doctor

I have noticed that my kid's eyes are looking droopy from photos shared with me and that the eye whites are looking brownish which has caused me a lot of worry since am far from where she is.

I have attached some pictures from yesterday and backwards to about six months ago when her eyes looked normal and ok

Thanks for your Question

I can't say that your kid has droopy eyelids or ptosis. First of all the photo from yesterday, your kid is not looking straight forward, he is looking slightly down and we can't judge the position of the eyelid by this pic.

The normal position of the upper eyelid is 2 mm below the limbus of the eyes. Limbus is the line between the while part of the eye ( sclera) and the cornea and for the photos you sent, it looks like the position of the eyelid of your kids is within normal limit but again i can't rely completely on the last photo.

Sometimes the facial features of the kid can give an impression that there is a droopy eyelid and this is called pseudo-ptosis.

I would prefer if your kid is examined by an eye doctor just to be sure that there is no abnormalities in ocular movements and also to be sure there is no droopy eyelid because photos without examination is not enough.

I can't see any brownish discoloration from these photos that you attached but you have to know that it is normal for black african person to have asymptomatic brownish discoloration in the white part of the eye which is a benign condition and you shouldn't be worry about that but if this brownish discolorations associated with other signs and symptoms such as itching, redness, tearing, pain and discharge, it should be examined by a doctor.
